Confection Perfection
October 9th, 2007
Cooking, FoodFor as long as I’ve known Amy, she’s loved to make great food. Within the last 4 years though, her interest in baking has exploded. With our friends here in Columbia, she has earned quite a reputation for her cakes and pastries. No matter what the occasion, if Amy and I are invited, you can be sure that some delicious dessert is coming along with us. Up until we started remodeling our kitchen she baked so many amazing desserts that it was hard to keep up with posting photos of them, let alone cataloging them. With that said, what follows is a quick and incomplete list of some of Amy’s coolest confections.
- 8/07 - Adriana’s Chocolate Roulade Cake
- 8/07 - Aidaris’ Fruit Topped Cake
- 7/07 - Eyma’s Hawiaan Shirt and Sandles Cake
- 6/07 - Pedro Josue’s Baby Blocks Cake
- 5/07 - Jenna’s Beach Themed Wedding Cupcakes
- 5/07 - Eirini’s Chocolate Fairy Cake
- 5/07 - Red Velvet Cake (Freelance Project)
- 3/07 - Eyma’s Modern Mango Cake
- 2/07 - Valentine’s Day Cookie Bouquets
- 12/06 - Christmas Fudge, Cookies, and Pecan Bars
- 10/06 - Gael’s Chocolate Tower Cake
- 8/06 - Aidaris’ Vanilla Birthday Cake
- 7/06 - Eyma’s Feliz Cumpleanos Ice Cream Cake
- 6/06 - Alina’s Ice Cream Birthday Cake

…and I’m going to go ahead and predict that there will be a lot more to add to this list once the kitchen is wrapped up.

Mmm…tasty! Makes me wish I wasn’t on this no starch/no sugar diet. Maybe I’ll eat the screen instead?

It’s good to hear from you Katie! I assume you mean this blueberry muffin recipe. Sooooooo good. Now I want one. Maybe I could convince the chef to whip some up.

Amy, spoke with you today. Don’t see any wedding cakes on your site. We’re still interested in a tradtional cake & cost. Anything we can see or discribe for us? You may get a reply from my daughter Kelly in CA. She was interested I know. I realize this is odd but hoping we can sort it out. I’m in Norwalk & would be willing to come down for cake samples. Thanks for your help. ..Linda

Linda,
I think you must have the wrong site. I am a PhD student in South Carolina who has taken up baking and cake decorating as a hobby. I haven’t spoken with anyone recently about doing a cake and I have only done one cake for a wedding. I hope you find the person who you spoke to and that your daughter has a beautiful wedding.
Best wishes,
Amy Beaird
