Hail Storm Video

Spring, Storm, Hail, Weather, Video

On Sunday, Ames and I observed some of the strangest weather. We woke up and it was sunny outside with blue skies, but the ground was soaked. We went to church and when we got back it started POURING rain and after about 10 minutes immediately got sunny again. A few hours later the sky turned black, the wind picked up and it started hailing. The hail was between pea and dime size and didn’t last long since it was about 79 degrees out. The following rain lasted about 10 minutes again and then it was sunny. Another hour or so passed by and it got REALLY black and really windy and the hail started coming down hard. This time I grabbed my camera and recorded a little video:

Hail in Amy's Hands

I’ve seen hail before, but not anything this big. Click on the picture to the left to see the detail. These were between quarter and golf ball size and for the time that the hail was coming down there was almost no rain. Amy found one new dent in the hood of her car, but other than that and some really pissed off plants, there didn’t appear to be any damage.
